Do's

In case you hear or see something unusual, please inform Metro staff or security personnel inside trains or stations.
Stand in queue while waiting for trains at platform.
Let passengers exit from the train before boarding
Never Squat on the train Floor.
Limit your baggage to 25 Kgs not exceeding 80 cm (Length) x 50 cm (Breadth) x 30 cm (Height) in size. Luggage exceeding such weight and/or dimensions are not allowed.
Avoid reading newspaper or crossing legs in crowded train as it leaves less space for fellow passengers.
Abstain from drunken and unruly behaviour.
Watch the gap between the train and platform edge.
It is illegal to beg, solicit products or conduct group activities in the train and at the station. Please report such activities to the station staff.
Please be sure to take all your belongings with you when you get off the train. If you lose something within metro premises, contact GMRC Lost & Found Cell.

Don't

Do not spit or throw garbage within Metro Premises.
Do not eat or drink inside trains and paid area of stations.
Do not bring pets inside Metro Stations.
Do not smoke inside Metro Premises.
Do not travel without valid token media.
Do not jump over the ticket barrier.
Do not share your ticket media with other person on the same journey.
Do not step onto the Metro Track. 3rd Rail is charged with 750 V DC.
Do not try to open the doors forcibly.
Do not deface or put posters inside Metro station or train.
Do not run or play games on the escalators.
Do not lean or put your hands on the train doors.
Do not rush on platforms or push other passengers to prevent accidents.

Bones, excluding bleached and cleaned bones
Gases, compressed, liquefied, or dissolved under pressure
Explosive substances, which possess risk of explosion, or fire, or both
Any decayed animal or vegetable matter
Human ashes
Parts of the human body
Human Skeleton
Any other article declared as dangerous or offensive material by the metro railway administration from time to time

Purchase/Recharge of Samrt Card

Passenger can purchase Smart card at any operational stations by Payment of Rs. 100/- (Rs. 50/- as Security Deposit and Rs. 50/- as Stored Value) through Cash or POS (Debit/Credit Card). Stored Value Can be used for travelling in Ahmedabad Metro as per fare chart.
Passenger can recharge CSC in multiple of Rs. 50/- up to maximum of Rs. 3000/-
Passenger can recharge CSC using Token Vending Machine (TVM) and Recharge Card Machine (RCM) at Operational Station.
CSC valid for 5 Years from date of Last Recharge.

Use of Smart Card

Entry-Exit: Tap Smart Card at Entry Fare Gate to Enter into paid area and at Exit Fare Gate to Exit from paid area.
Sequence: Each Entry shall be followed by Exit while using CSC.
Mismatch: If Entry-Exit sequence does not follow. There will be Entry-Exit Mismatch Error in CSC. Passenger shall contact Customer Care at station to eliminate error.
Requirement of Minimum Stored Value: Minimum Stored value required to enter is minimum fare of system.
Fare Deduction: Fare will be deducted at Exit Fare Gates as per journey performed. In case of Entry & Exit at same station, Minimum Fare of system will be deducted.
Facilities to check Stored Value: Passenger can check Stored Value through Recharge Card Machine (RCM) and ENQ Machine.

** Note: ENQ Machine is currently not available. It will be operational soon. **

Passengers using CSC for travelling will be given 10% discount on completion of journey.
Save Time!
No need to stand in queue to purchase Token.
Enjoy Convenience!
You can catch train at last moment. (Token Vending Counters will be closed five minutes before departure of last scheduled train.)
Great Flexibility!
Smart card can be used by Friends, Family or relatives as per flexibility.
Freedom!
Journey can be Extended/Terminated without pre-planning as Fare will be deducted at Exit Fare Gates.

Refund of Smart Card

Stored Value amount of CSC will not be refunded in Cash.
In case of Unreadable CSC, refund of Stored Value will be provided in new CSC as per Business Rules of GMRC.
If passenger wants to refund Readable CSC, only Security Deposit will be refunded after deducting admin charges as per Business Rules of GMRC.
Process for Refund of Stored value of Unreadable CSC in new CSC will take up to 7 days.

Following are the Fare Media allowed for Travelling within GMRC Network
1. Contactless Smart Token (CST)
2. Contactless Smart Card (CSC)
3. Temporary Paper Ticket (It will be used in case of Failure of AFC System)
Following are Fare Products available for Travelling within GMRC Network
1. Single Journey Token (SJT)
2. Group Ticket (For Group of Passengers more than 10)
3. Tourist Ticket
Children only under 3 feet (90cms) height are allowed to travel free if accompanied
by an adult.
Token purchased will be valid for use on business day of Purchase. Business Day will
be considered as per implemented Timetable for Revenue Services.
Passengers can purchase Fare Media/Products by payment through cash or POS
(Debit/Credit Card).
Refund of Token:Only unused CST (not used for entry) can be refunded within 30
minutes from time of issue from issuing station.
Maximum permissible Time:20 minutes in case of Exit from Same Station and 120
Minutes in case of Exit from other Station.
Luggage Limit:Passenger is allowed to carry luggage of Weight 25 Kg and
Dimension of 80 cm x 50 cm x 30 cm (Length x Breadth x Height). Luggage of Size
and/or weight more than this limit will not be allowed.
Penalty:
1. Penalty of Rs. 200/- will be levied if person is caught trying to carrying away
  token outside premise of GMRC.
2. Penalty of Rs. 10/- per hour per person subject to maximum of Rs. 50/- per
  person for staying in paid area for time more than Maximum permissible time.
3. If passenger is found without valid Ticket in paid area, Passenger is liable to
  pay Penalty of Rs. 50/- plus Maximum fare of the system

Emergency Stop Plunger	It is provided at platforms to stop trains approaching stations.
Emergency Trip System	It is provided at Platforms to cut off 750 V Power supply during emergency.
Fire Alarm & suppression System	Fire Alarm & Suppression system is available to detect and deal with Fire.
Fire Extinguisher	Portable Fire Extinguishers are available at Stations & inside trains to handle small fire.
Fire Hose Cabinet	Fire Hose cabinet is available at stations to handle big fires.
Emergency Detrainment Ramp	It is available in trains to evacuate passengers safely during emergency.
Emergency Exit Signage	Lit Signage are provided to guide passengers towards exit during emergency.
Emergency Evacuation Map	Evacuation Route map is provided at prominent location at stations.
Stretcher	Stretcher is available at stations for emergency rescue of passengers.
Passenger Emergency Alarm & Passenger Helpline	Passenger Emergency Alarm is provided in trains & Passenger helpline is provided at stations for passengers to communicate with officials during emergency.

Important Information

Passengers, who has lost an article in GMRCL premises or in trains, can report at any station, or directly mail/call at Customer Care giving all details about the articles mentioning his/her address and contact numbers.
All perishable food items and soiled items will be discarded at stations.
Passenger Visiting at Lost and Found Office or station, to claim the lost& found items, shall bring a valid government ID having address on it.
If the lost articles are not claimed within six months, deposited articles at Lost & Found office will be disposed off.
